I have a question for all the Taurus readers (sun, moon, or Venus placements). I'd love to hear from you in the comments. Are you emotionally moved by clothes and fashion, or is it all textiles broadly? Yesterday my mentor, Staci Jordan Shelton, asked her social network what beautiful things we were passionate about, and I'm pretty sure I answered like a Taurus. Your energy is thick, and I find it's providing me with the type of inspiration that is not fleeting. It's pointing to something deep with great staying power. Hours after answering her question on Facebook, I was asked to apply to an artist residency, and all I could think about was incorporating the answers I'd given earlier in the day in an exhibit. Beauty is our divinatory guide in this season, and Taurus teaches us how to sustain that which is most sacred.
Recent Reflections
In our latest community gathering, Where Fire Meets The Earth, we talked about the post-eclipse changes, retrograde revisions, and what to do now that the collective fog is clearing. As I've been meditating on the messages I channeled in that session, I'm reminded that when we cling out of fear and scarcity, we prevent the organic life cycle of a thing from taking its course. When we hold on to the decaying for dear life, we inhibit our ability to perceive greater, more aligned, and evolving possibilities.
This week's Scorpio Full Moon amplified those messages by reminding us that there is beauty even in Death. I spent the days leading into the full moon with my grandmother’s eldest daughter’s eldest daughter because her sister, my cousin, just purchased a home closer to me. My cousin's new home proudly displays the artwork of my aunt and ancestor. In sitting with one of her pieces, and soaking in the stories my cousins shared, my appreciation for her life and the gifts she had deepened, as did my awareness of the liberation she's experiencing now as an angel. The communion left me with this question:
What greater motivation for legacy is there than beauty?
